K9 Mountaineer Club's philosophy about training begins with building a trusting relationship starting from the day you bring home your new puppy or dog. This relationship with your new canine companion is built on positive interaction and consistency.

As an Animal Behavior College Certified Dog Trainer, I have the knowledge and skill to help enhance the relationship with your canine friend. The key to this relationship is an understanding of your dog's behavior combined with consistent effective training regardless of age.

K9 Mountaineer Club advocates the use of positive reinforcement techniques. This method minimizes conflict and confusion and allows a dog to think for himself.  Dogs are born innocent of our expectations of them. It is up to us to teach them using humane methods what we expect of them.

K9 Mountaineer Club believes that by choosing compassion and science, we earn the gift of limitless possibilities in our relationship with another species. For every observer who sees joy on the faces of humans and dogs together, we inch towards the goal of ending the mental and emotional imprisonment imposed through fear and dominance that some people feel necessary to obtain behaviors. By using these outdated methods the risk of damaging the trust/bond and relationship is too great. Training should be rewarding and enjoyable to both dog and owner. Dogs should learn that being under our leadership will always benefit them.

K9 Mountaineer Club uses clicker training as the primary choice of training. It is simply the easiest, most effective and fun way to train your dog. To learn more about clicker training please visit: www.clickertraining.com
